The  German radio station Deutschlandfunk has featured a segment dealing with synthetic biology as a tool against climate change in their regular science broadcast series Forschung aktuell on 5 August 2019.
Hellmuth Nordwig, the host, talked about different strategies of fighting the greenhouse effect using synthetic biology.
One of the guests was our eForFuel project coordinator: Dr. Arren Bar-Even from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Biology. He shared his insights and experiences drawing on his own research, and he emphasized that to switch from fossil fuels to a direct (re)use of COand renewable energy will not only represent a scientific as well as technical challenge, but also a political one.
